Pianist, performer, and improviser from Lille, Barbara Dang is a member of the Muzzix collective. She stands out for her ability to connect interpretation and improvisation. Her music is inspired by minimalism and experimental works, including compositions by Linda Catlin Smith, Morton Feldman, Barbara Monk Feldman, Michael Pisaro-Liu, Federico Mompou, and others. She uses unconventional techniques, such as prepared piano. Her approach focuses on musical action, silence, and environmental sounds, rather than aesthetic individual expression. Her musical eclecticism leads her to explore various instruments, from the plucked strings of the harpsichord to the breath of the organ. She collaborates with artists such as Sophie Agnel, Borja Flames, Aude Romary, Laure Vovard, and composers like Radu Malfatti, Michael Pisaro-Liu, Tom Johnson, Jean-Luc Guionnet. She takes part in projects ranging from postmodern works with the Ensemble Dedalus to the Looking for Hart's Songs repertoire with Olivier Mellano, as well as Pianoïse by Emmanuel Lalande. Since 2015, she has worked for Revue & Corrigée, a journal dedicated to experimental sound practices
